Nicole’s distinctive design sensibility is eclectic and multi-layered, blending classic with modern, old with new, high with low and boldly mixing together rich color, pattern and texture in fresh ways that excite. A unique set of influences have helped shape her aesthetic and continue to inform her point-of-view. She grew up both the daughter of a decorator and a child of the MTV Generation and spent more than a decade working in the fashion industry before embarking on a full-time career in design. Nicole finds just as much inspiration on the Fashion Week runways and in the sartorial choices of her favorite celebrities and pop culture icons as she does from design history, the arts, architecture and her adventurous world travels.
Nicole regularly shares approachable decorating tips, trends, product finds and inspiration on her popular lifestyle blog which launched in January 2008 and serves as a guide to stylish living for décor obsessed readers in more than 135 countries around the globe. Her mission is to inspire her audience to design a life they love and to do it with style. With a lifelong passion for design coupled with a fun, unpretentious approach to decorating and a strong media presence, this designer-to-watch is quickly earning a reputation as the voice of decorating for a new generation of passionate home enthusiasts.
Originally from Michigan, Nicole earned her undergraduate degree from Northwestern University and currently lives in New York City.
